1st Unofficial Xanga Dinner Club meet up
**Edit**
More photos at WeaponG’s xanga hereLast night 9 Xanga team members got together and met up with 5 xanga users for the 1st Unofficial Xanga Dinner Club gathering.
We started out with dinner at Brick Lane Curry House where we met Yvo, aka moonbunny, and Konrad, aka konrado.
Ayca, Ben, Patrick, Mikey and Konrad
Joe decided to take the curry challenge and ordered phaal.Which according to the menu is:
An excruciatingly hot curry, more pain and sweat
than flavor. For our
customers who do this on a dare,
we will require you to state a verbal
disclaimer not holding us liable for any physical or emotional damage after
eating this curry. (this is what it looks like)–>
Go here to see the video of Joe eating the phaal.
I ordered the Tandoori scallops, which was delish and not spicy. The second stop on our Meet and Eat/Bar Crawl was the Grassroots Tavern. Joe went out and found three xangans that came out to join us- Aaron, Lynn aka blueshortyx3 and Gordon aka weaponG.
The next stop was Pommes Frites to carb up and chat.
3rd stop was to Hop Devil Grill where we grabbed some fancy beer.
We ended the night at Crif Dog and PDT. The hot dogs here are phenomal.
One last picture from the night.
Thanks to the Xangans that came out! We had a blast hanging out. And many props to Joe for planning the whole shin-dig! We’re hoping to make this a regular event so if you’re in the NYC area and want to come out let us know. We’d love to meet you!

Thank you for sharing.
Looks like everyone who went had a great night out.
Wow that’s pretty sweet! Wish I could have gone/have the money to have gone. Xanga should set up branch offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and L.A. so we can have Xanga get-togethers all across the U.S.!
Last week of June!! Angi1972 and I are coming to see you guys!
Looks like it was a fun night
wow, cool. this is like when we used to do Xanga Whore meetups. haha… if you guys are gonna do regular meetups, i’d like to stop by! where do i get info?

Police were called when a fight broke out due to inappropriate clicking.
How fun! It seems like everyone had a good time.
PS That peach stuff looks good!
@MissChristina - just subscribe to my xanga – I’ll post when we head out next month. ^_^
Awesome….
ohh someday i would love to!
@priorities -
I AGREE!!!
seemed like a fun night. there should be a branch outlet in california so that such a meeting could occur here.
we (california) could be the stamford branch to you, the scranton branch?!
I like to try out Pommes Frites.
@seedsower -
Can’t wait to meet you guys! Will you let us know what day you’re gonna come and maybe we can all go out to lunch or dinner.
you guys should go on a national tour
good times
Gah! So mad i missed it! Next time tell Joe to give us slightly more advanced warning please.
ZOMG Xanga ppl! It’s like meeting a celeb.
I’ve never even heard of this event. I wish I could go.
My brother lives in NY and I could visit…wonder if it’s the xanga office…
Hey, don’t forget this thing is global – Let’s have an unofficial Xanga Pizza night
Just choose a date and all participants get to post what pizza they had (could be interesting given the timezones)
@sean - That would be cool. Expensive, but cool. Its easier for everyone to go to NYC. I’d come, but I have to plan three weeks to a month in advance, coming from Houston with school and all. But it sounds like fun!
Man, that is TOO COOL. I cant wait to visit NYC again.
new york is like 10000 miles away…
Amazing post!
I want to go to a xanga dinner. lol
b^_^d

aaron is leejoygwong, btw
Awesome! I’m sure I’ll meet ya’ll someday
Looks fun! ^_^
Lovely pictures…thanks for sharing.
Im jealous I couldnt be there. But minnesota is a little too far away.
Hey, sorry…I was going to drop you guys a line today and tell you I
didn’t have time to chat, but then I spent 15 minutes trying to get my
dang computer to stop being stupid, and so I decided to leave the
message here…for some reason everything would load, and then it would
just not let me type and not let me see anything anyone else was
typing, but I could hear you guys discussing Patrick Dempsey’s hotness
or notness. I think he’s NOT. Anyway, sorry I missed you!
That is way cool! Looks fun!
peach lambic is not a beer…it’s an ale…:P should be drunk warm or something like that
gross I say.
HOW FUN! i wish i lived in NYC!
@pch_driver - warm, really? hmm…interesting. I’d try it again warm but I don’t want to pay $13. =
ryc, yep according to what I read lambic and other belgian specific ales were drank warm…where the heck would monks get a fridge back in the days of the knights?
lambic also has a higher alcohol content along with other belgian ales, they continue to ferment and get stronger in the bottle…that’s why they are capped with the wire like champagne. mmmmm ale
Thanks so much for helping me rid myself of my uniqname! ^_^ (Mikey told me you were the one behind it.)
and ryp: I saw phaal on Food Network… the cooks wear a full face gas mask while they cook it because it’s so spicy!
ryc: =D
I’ve had that Belgian beer (Lindeman’s) before. It tastes pretty good, even though it’s mostly like carbonated fruit juice.
I WANT IN!!! I LIVE IN THE NYC AREA!!!! =3
omg i know the fries place!
it’s sooooo goooddddd =D.
