Zynga and Xanga Are Not the Same Company!!
On an almost daily basis people email and call us complaining about their missing Farmville and Frontierville credits, avatars and “restoration of their stables”.
Well I got some news for those people -we have no idea where your “red baseball hat avatar” went!!!
It boggles my mind how people get to the Xanga frontpage and then still manage to send us emails when there’s no mention of any games on our site. Sometimes I feel bad reading these emails, because they’re long and super detailed with all sorts of information on “horseshoe pit mansion” or “harvesting grapes” (sometimes the messages are really mean and nasty too) and I can tell the person is super involved with the games. But c’mon, there is no mention of any games on our site at all!
Anyways, I usually am more amused about these emails and calls than annoyed and always email these folks back to let them know that they’ve confused us with Zynga. I’m sure they feel pretty silly after getting my response. hehe
Have any of you ever thought Xanga was the same company that made Farmville, Frontierville, or any of those games? They must be super addictive!

That would be negative, nope,no never.
No. But if you’re talking to someone on the phone, I can see how “Zynga” and “Xanga” could sound very similar!!
@guestbrief - Yeah definitely very similar sounding but I just assume that when you google farmville or frontierville people would see zynga as the creators and not xanga.
Apparently there’s also a company that makes a health juice called Xango that people also confuse us with.
nope, I have never confused the two
@eugenia - Is the juice any good LOL
@eugenia - not gonna lie, I hear that confusion a lot. :-p. (Between Xango and Xanga)
Ahahahahahaah. Well I’m guessing there aren’t any Xangans that get it mixed up. But I remember when Zynga first came out and they sponsored some newscast on NPR…I was driving in the car and I heard “this segment brought to you by Zynga” and I thought…woahhhhh…Xanga is sponsoring NPR segments? That’s random.
Pronounced, I think they’re confusing. But obviously I host my blog on Xanga so it’d be really silly if I got them confused. But, I wouldn’t blame someone for confusing them, they’re close!
LOL
Blame facebook.
To be honest, I briefly got confused by the name similarity too haha. That’s pretty funny that you guys get emails about Zynga. Have you ever tried actually answering a question as if you were Zynga?
I’ve never thought about the similarities of the two. I didn’t even know this kind of thing happened. I am so out of the loop haha.
That is pretty funny I have to say though.
Haha…that is so sad (in a pathetic kind of way), yet hilarious.
lol what in the world!
xanga would be a lot richer and be bigger at promoting if they were the same co.
I’ve never heard of Zynga until now.
Merger?
It’s probably good business for you. I remember about a year ago somebody mentioned how it was by “zynga”, and I had never heard that company name – thought they were talking about Xanga, so out of curiosity I revisited this site (hadn’t been here for a few years). I resurrected my blog shortly after, partly because it reminded me of the fact that this site still existed.
Americans are idiots, as personified by Green Day.
The moral of the story is learn to READ before you learn to write….it could save lives.
Those games were one of the primary reasons I quit using FaceBook. So many of the games are like chain letters, something else I find no pleasure in. I would much rather know that my friends baby got its first tooth than to know they found a potato bug in their field in Farmville
1 eprop? oops, it was from my phone
I never, ever liked games on Facebook.
LOL, they sort of sound the same but are spelled completely different! I would think Zynga would be a lot easier for people to spell!
Nope, never mixed them up, but then that’s because I’m a cool, die-hard Xangan first and an ex-Farmville player next. I just couldn’t keep up with all the harvesting.
Wait, so you’re saying I haven’t been building a farm and sharing it with my family and friends all this time. I’m so confused.
@Kristenmomof3 - The juice is actually pretty tasty but I remember it being like $11 bottle!
@randomneuralfirings - heheh
@Roadlesstaken - I’ve been tempted but I figured they would only get more angry at us for losing their crops, barn, farm animals, etc. hehe You’d be surprised by the intensity of these emails.
@wifeylifey - It would be awesome if we could one day sponsor an NPR program!
I checked out your salmon & capers recipe and want to try it this weekend. It sounds really good. I love capers!
@opticalnoise - Really? I feel so in the dark. I have no idea what Zynga and Xango are… ha.
It amazes me how people don’t read, especially before sending a nasty message! It’s incredibly nice that you answer them all, and this made me laugh. I’d be fuming if it kept happening to me. Maybe you can post something on the front page saying “learn to read people!!”
Hahaha. Nope.
hahaha…reason # 321 why Xanga doesn’t put games on the site.
Classic.
To answer your question – nope – never thought that.
well, no because I can read.
I have never confused the two and only a retarded would. Anyone who would get to the xanga website and still be that confused should have all their computer privileges revoke and be formally beaten within an inch of their life with their own personal computer.
Never heard of it but it can’t be bad for business.
lol noobs
No, because Xanga was around before Facebook was even an idea.
my only confusion is mixing up the vodka and the gin bottles when the labels come off
nice farm you got there, eugenia! well in some way, at least it brings people over to xanga. perhaps a few will create accounts.
This is so silly.
No
I have heard of Zynga and it does sound nearly the same as Xanga. I have never played Farmville etc
Hahah oh goodness, people are too funny!
LMAO! I knew of Xanga before my Farmville habbit started, so I’ve never been confused. But still…people slay me sometimes!!
are they reading it.. or saying it? If they are reading it and stillend up at xanga, Visually see the site and still assume that it is a gaming thing… I gotta say, I hope they learn thier lesson from it.
when i first worked with a fb games company, they mentioned “Zynga”. And I was like, “WTF Xanga re-emerging into a social game dev????”
I was here on Xanga before Fbook started pimping out the Zynga games. Xanga-Love!! <3
@eugenia - lol
No. But I do wonder if it is pronounced X-anga or Zanga. I wish someone would tell me that!
I didn’t even know that something like zynga existed.
hahaha really? Wow!!!
Never confused it maybe because I’ve known of xanga longer and I don’t play those addicting games…
Haha…if one more person calls to complain about their blueberries…
Nope. Never
That would be like confusing Delphi (Mzinga) with Xanga or Zynga. Nope.
CAN U FIX MAH DEAD ROSES?
lol, I realized that zynga sounds a bit like xanga, but the logo is totally different and the first two of the 5 letters as well…so no.
I’ve never confused the two, lol.
So, I’ve been earning all these credits, how do I transfer them onto my Farmville?
@ShimmerBodyCream - lol
@llamalima - Doh!
